Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Leurenkill Heights mobile application (the "App") operated by Citystoop, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and Account Registration

The App is a private community platform for members and affiliates of the Leurenkill Heights community. Access requires registration and approval by an administrator.

• You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.
• You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• Administrator approval is required before you can access the App's features.
• We reserve the right to approve, reject, or revoke access at any time and for any reason.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App in a manner consistent with its purpose as a community platform. The standards in this Section apply to all content and communications in the App — public posts, comments, chatter, PA announcements, and private messages (direct messages, group conversations, and cabin chats).

You agree not to:

• Post or send content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or abusive toward other members
• Share private information about other members without their consent
• Send unsolicited or repeated messages to members who have not engaged with you, or who have indicated they do not wish to receive your messages
• Add members to group conversations against their evident wishes
• Post or send spam, advertisements, or solicitations unrelated to the community
• Upload content (including photo attachments in messages) that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, or that is otherwise unlawful
• Upload sexually explicit material, content depicting minors in inappropriate contexts, or any other prohibited material
• Attempt to access another member's account or data
• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Circumvent or interfere with the App's security features
• Create additional accounts to evade a block placed by another member or a suspension imposed by an administrator
• Use any presence or location-sharing feature to harass, stalk, surveil, or enable unwanted physical contact with other members
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the App

Leurenkill Heights maintains a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Violating content will be removed within 24 hours of being reported. Users who repeatedly violate community standards will have their accounts terminated.

3. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create and post through the App, including posts, photos, comments, chatter messages, PA announcements, messages and message photo attachments in direct, group, and cabin conversations, and reactions.

By posting public content (main feed, social feed, events, chatter, PA announcements, comments, reactions), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and store that content within the App for the purpose of operating the community platform.

By sending messages in direct, group, or cabin conversations, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and deliver those messages only to the other members of that specific conversation, and to retain reported messages temporarily for moderation review.

You are solely responsible for the content you post or send. We do not pre-screen user content but reserve the right to remove or hide any content that violates these Terms or community standards.

4. Content Reporting and Moderation

Members may report any content they believe violates these Terms or community standards — including posts, comments, chatter, PA announcements, and messages. Reports flow into an administrator review queue.

Administrators review pending reports and may take action including hiding, removing, or deleting content; suspending or terminating accounts of violators; and dismissing reports that do not warrant action. We commit to acting on reports within 24 hours of submission.

If you receive unwanted contact, you may also use the in-App block tool to immediately stop another member from messaging you, adding you to groups, or interacting with your content. Blocks apply bidirectionally to messaging and content visibility and persist until you remove them.

5. PA Announcements

The PA (Public Address) feature allows eligible members to broadcast short audio announcements to the community. PA announcements are subject to the same content standards as other user content. Announcements expire automatically after 4 hours. A cooldown period may apply between announcements.

6. Direct Messaging and Conversations

The App offers three forms of conversation:

• Direct messages: one-to-one conversations between two members
• Group conversations: creator-managed conversations of up to 20 members
• Cabin chats: conversations whose membership is automatically determined by cabin assignment

Messages, photo attachments, and reactions in conversations are visible only to the other members of that specific conversation. Administrators do not have routine read access to conversations; they may access reported messages for moderation purposes only.

You have control over your conversation experience:

• Mute any conversation to stop receiving push notifications for it without leaving.
• Leave a group conversation at any time. Cabin chats are tied to your cabin assignment.
• Block another member to prevent them from sending you direct messages or adding you to group conversations.
• Report any message that violates these Terms.

The first message you receive from a new sender in a direct conversation requires your explicit acceptance before the conversation appears in your inbox normally — protecting you from unwanted first contact.

7. Location Presence ("On the Hill")

The App offers an optional presence-sharing feature that lets you broadcast when you are physically inside a one-mile geofence centered on the Leurenkill Heights property. The feature is:

• Opt-in. Disabled by default. You must explicitly enable it in Settings → Presence → On the Hill before any presence data is shared.
• Audience-controlled. You choose who can see your status: the entire community, members of your cabin, specific allowlisted members, or any combination. You can change or disable your audience at any time.
• Coarse, not continuous. The App only registers when you cross the one-mile boundary. We do not track your exact location and do not store any location history beyond your current state.
• Visible only to your audience. Other members in your chosen audience may see your on-hill state via a visual indicator on your avatar. Members not in your audience cannot see your status or determine whether the feature is enabled.

You agree not to use another member's shared presence information to harass, stalk, intimidate, or otherwise harm them, or to enable any unwanted contact. Misuse of presence information will result in account suspension or termination.

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, branding, code, and original content, is the property of Citystoop, LLC. The Leurenkill Heights name, logos, and visual identity are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content without our written permission.

10. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including Supabase, Apple Push Notification Service, SmugMug, Google Places, OpenWeatherMap, and Resend. Your use of the App may be subject to the terms and privacy policies of these third-party services.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or free from errors. We are not responsible for the accuracy of user-generated content, weather data, or third-party information displayed in the App.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Citystoop, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury.

13. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

You may delete your own account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, authentication credentials, device tokens, and associated personal data. For assistance with account deletion or data requests, you may also email privacy@leurenkill.com.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Ulster County, New York.
